Campus Dammweg was a hub of Berlin Mondiale from 2021 to 2023.
The 18,000m² garden at Dammweg was once home to the Carl-Legien School for gardeners, with a pavilion at its center designed by architect Bruno Taut. After years of neglect, the site had become an overgrown and abandoned space. In 2021, Berlin Mondiale was granted access by the Bezirksamt Neukölln and carefully reopened the grounds as a campus for neighbors and surrounding communities.
From then on, the garden blossomed into a lively meeting place, hosting workshops and events for children, women, and seniors — from dance and ceramics to nature-inspired art, stitching, and gardening. Over time, not only trees, flower beds, and greenhouses flourished, but most importantly, new connections between people.
