Dammweg 216
12057 Berlin
This charming 18.000m² garden was previously the site of the Carl-Legien Schule, a school for gardeners, which featured a Pavilion designed by the architect Bruno Taut in its center. After years of neglect, the garden became an abandoned space overgrown with plants. However, since 2021, Berlin Mondiale has been granted access to the garden by the Bezirksamts Neukölln and has subtly opened it as a Campus for neighbors and communities around the hub. Since then, a variety of events and workshops have been held for children, women, and seniors, including dancing, nature-inspired art, ceramics, stitching, and gardening.
The garden's charm is difficult to put into words, but it has become a thriving space where a lot has grown, including trees, flower beds, greenhouses, and most importantly, connections between people.
