Open Call of solidarity
Berlin Mondiale invites artists in the context of asylum, exile, and migration across Berlin to apply for the open call. We support ideas, projects, and residencies on the theme:
Art of Togetherness - Exploration of Urban Solidarity through approaches of collective care in art
Together with artists, children, young people, adults, seniors, and families from different neighbourhoods in Berlin, we want to develop and implement solidary approaches to art in the neighbourhoods of Berlin. Therefore, practices of care and solidarity should be explored. The following questions can serve as inspirationfor the theme: How do spaces need to be designed? What visions and expertise are needed to live together in solidarity in the city? How do we understand solidarity and care? What textures, sounds, ideas, images, performances, smells, experiences, or narratives does a city of solidarity have? What is missing todayin the networks of solidarity? What resources are needed or refused?
⏰ WHEN CAN YOU APPLY?
The application period starts on March 17 2023, and ends on April 16 2023 at 11:59 PM.
In which period can the projects take place?
The implementation period is from May 1, 2023 to October 31, 2023.
🫂 WHO CAN APPLY?
Our call is aimed at all art and culture practitioners/urban practitioners in the context of asylum, exile, and migration in Berlin - from freelance individuals, self organised groups and collectives, to artistic and cultural associations.
🎨 PROJECTS CAN BE FUNDED?
The call is open to many disciplines: dance, urban courses, performance, screenings, photography, radio, music, spoken word, interviews, creative neighbourhood walks, artistic recycling workshops, interventions in public spaces, talks, field research, participatory building workshops and more than we have listed here! The project can also be conducted (only or also) in one of the neighbourhoods languages (e.g., Arabic, Turkish, Farsi, Kurdish, Polish …).
💶 WHAT IS THE FUNDING AMOUNT?
The regular funding amount is €2,000 - €6,000 per project.
