Berlin Mondiale supports the implementation of the Youth Culture Initiative
Berlin Mondiale supports the implementation of the pilot phase of the Youth Culture Initiative (2024/2025) in permanently funded cultural institutions. The interdisciplinary funding program, Youth Culture Initiative (JKI) , aims to strengthen participatory and outreach offerings of cultural education in Berlin. Cultural institutions are to be supported in their processes of opening up to young people and expanding their offerings in neighborhoods where cultural education has been structurally underrepresented. The establishment of sustainable partnerships with local social actors aims to anchor cultural participation opportunities for young people in their neighborhoods.
Berlin Mondiale supports the implementation of the Youth Culture Initiative through a program that is oriented towards anti-discrimination and critical examination of power. This accompanying program supports, connects, and qualifies the funded institutions in their work processes. The needs and realities of children and young people take center stage in the process guidance and are intended to gain visibility as the Youth Culture Initiative progresses.
